12/14/2022 0 Comments high school accomplishmentsEveryone takes high school differently
- Some simply just pass by to graduate and don’t really care, aren't involved in anything - Some do the most- get good grades and try to be involved in everything - Some dropout and regret it later on in life - Some are just there for the sports I honestly am the one who “does the most”. I care about my grades, I am involved in many activities and sports. I want to excel in high school and work hard because I think that’ll benefit me when I go to college and have a real job. I got accepted into MHS last spring. Being apart of that organization matters to me because you have to meet certain requirements just to be able to apply, then from there its a long process of different essays you have to write and get letter of recommendations. Not everyone gets in so for me getting accepted meant a lot. It matters to others like my parents because it shows the hard work it takes to get in and to stay in the program. Being a three sport athlete and being on the A honor roll my whole high school career is an accomplishment to me because it's stressful enough just being in school but being in sports and activities on top of that is a lot. Getting home late after practices or games and still managing to get my homework done and good to keep my grades up. I feel like a lot of people don't realize how much this strains us high school athletes. https://www.purewow.com/family/back-to-school-quotes But high school is so much more than what you accomplish. Its about what you learn about yourself and how you treat other people. After high school no one will remember you by the person that was the student council president or if you were in MHS. Yes having good grades, being in actives and sports is important to get valuable life lessons but don’t be caught up in that. “High school is about finding who you are, because that's more important than trying to be someone else” (Nick Jones). 11/17/2022 0 Comments reviewing facebookFacebook is a website that allows you to stay connected with your friends, family, coworkers, or even people you haven’t meet yet.
You can share anything you’d like, for example: -any pictures - links - your thoughts/ideas -you can even “reshare” something that someone else posted. You can direct message your friends, which is nice because if you don’t have their phone number or email you can contact them through Facebook if you need. You can even directly send them a post one Facebook instead of tagging them in it. Although Facebook is just like any other social media website it is starting to get hackers that send scams to people since Facbook majority of users are an older population and not super technology savvy they fall for these scams. My dad even has been hacked on Facebook and his hacker posted things and were direct messaging his facebook friends and my dad didn’t realize it even happened until someone reached out to him saying they got an odd message from him on facebook. It happens all the time so people need to be careful when clicking on random links and adding people back they haven’t heard of. “Social media is the ultimate equaliser. It gives a voice and a platform to anyone willing to engage” (Amy Jo Martin). Social media has changed drastically over the years. More and more people are joining and getting involved in ways they probably never imagined. I generally think that people look at social media and think badly right, they think of all the flaws. Which I get there is a lot of negatives but if you look at all the good and different ways its positively impacting people and society you might change your mindset about it. You make connections with people, see long distance friends ans families members updates others on their lives. https://www.brainyquote.com/authors/amy-jo-martin-quotes https://www.google.com/searchq=facebook+logo&rlz=1CAGWKK_enUS945&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjv0enb97X7AhXKkYkEHTKSDEQQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&biw=1366&bih=617&dpr=1&safe=active&ssui=on&tbs=il:cl#imgrc=YT2_DooAVAUBNM 11/8/2022 0 Comments My Life in 10 yearsIn 10 years I can see my life going in many different directions. All different job options I am thinking of will deter what college I go to which deters who I will meet. Meeting certain people and not meeting people will drastically change the course of my life. If I don’t go to one college I might never meet my soul mate or friend or someone who would help with my job. All the different experiences I would have.
“The future is completely open and we are writing it moment to moment” (Pema Chodron). I like that quote because we can’t plan our way into the future because so many things can alter and change that you didn’t have planned. Everything happens for a reason so I just need to trust the process and learn as I go. https://quotefancy.com/quote/887272/Pema-Ch-dr-n-The-future-is-completely-open-and-we-are-writing-it-moment-to-moment https://www.google.com/search?q=girl+looking+into+the+future&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwj5iKvhxKH7AhUMcTABHdYaAsUQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=girl+looking+into+the+future&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQAzoECAAQQzoFCAAQgAQ6CAgAELEDEIMBOggIABCABBCxAzoHCAAQsQMQQzoGCAAQBRAeOgYIABAIEB5QtwRYtUdgmEloAnAAeAGAAZMBiAGWKJIBBDU3LjWYAQCgAQGqAQtnd3Mtd2l6LWltZ7ABAMABAQ&sclient=img&ei=tNdrY_neMYziwbkP1rWIqAw&bih=617&biw=1366&rlz=1CAGWKK_enUS945&safe=active&ssui=on&tbs=il:cl#imgrc=PgcKYNoIuQtWZM |
The impact extracurriculars have on students goes unnoticed. As an athlete you have to keep your grade up to participate so you have to do well.
- wake up at 5:30 a.m and get ready - get to the school to workout by 6:30 - all day of school with my study halls being used for meetings for the extracurriculars I am in - going to practice that gets done at 5:30 p.m, to - go home and eat supper, do my homework, and get to bed at a decent time with trying to see my family and socializing with my friends. “Physical activity in general is associated with improved academic achievement, including grades and standardized test scores. Further, such activity can affect attitudes and academic behavior, including enhanced concentration, attention, and improved classroom behavior” (GAO, 2012). |
